There’s something magical about the unexpected—and this late-afternoon maternity session with Hannah and Tomas turned into one of the dreamiest moments I’ve had the honour of capturing. What started as a calm, overcast evening quickly transformed as a thick blanket of fog rolled in across the Okanagan landscape. Instead of chasing the last bit of sunlight, we were wrapped in soft, muted tones and a cinematic stillness that made every moment feel deeply intimate.
The fog created the perfect moody backdrop for their maternity photos: earthy, emotional, quiet, and beautifully timeless. With the world softened around them, Hannah and Tomas moved gently through the space—hand in hand, holding the bump, laughing, breathing each other in. It felt like the fog created a little cocoon for them, shutting out everything except the anticipation of meeting their baby.
Maternity sessions are always emotional, but this one felt especially tender. The atmosphere slowed everything down—the way they looked at each other, the way she held her growing belly, the way he wrapped his arms around her. Every frame felt like a still from an indie film: moody light, organic movement, and genuine connection.
